Absolutely! Everyone starts somewhere, and if Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School is where you start from, you’d surely be on a path to becoming a successful yoga teacher. We advise you to start with our 200-hr YTT course as it’s easier to begin with, and you can take your sweet time understanding the journey.
First and foremost, you’ll need to complete all the necessary courses, attend the classes regularly, pass the exams with good grades, and finally, get a graduation degree from the respective college to become a yoga instructor. After this is done, you have the option of asking your school to employ you as an intern or as a junior teacher to start your teaching journey, and later, through time, practice, and your commitment, you can achieve being a successful yoga teacher in Rishikesh.
Yoga Alliance has established a criterion for yoga schools. Though it is not a requirement to be one of their registered schools, as it operates as a private and non-profit organisation, it still has a standard and expectations from a school registered with it. If you have the opportunity take the leap and attend this school. Their level of dedication, focus, mixed with fun and playfulness is quite amazing. My yoga and spirituality deepened immensely. There’s were field trips and the most amazing food made for you daily. Ahhh talking about my experience is making me miss my time with these amazing yogis. Oh and taking daily dips in the Ganges was such a beautiful thing.

Best place for Beginners, intermediate and Advance practitioners to get good exposure .Staffs are friendly and taking extra care for the Beginners. Mind Blowing theoretical classes of Anatomy and Philosophy. Good surroundings to practice yoga. We will get the same energy from day one to end. Supporting staffs are friendly and will be ready to help at any time . Rooms and campus are neat and clean . Food is really good and recommend to everyone it worthy.

My experience at Sarvodaya…
My experience at Sarvodaya Vinyasa School was amazing for my 200 hour TTC! The moment I arrived I felt at home, Ravi ji who manages the school made sure everything is well organised and no task is too big for him. Rohit and Rahul are the top chefs and they make the most delicious food and always accommodated my vegan needs. They were also very friendly and taught us how to cook some typical Indian dishes! The teachers; Jeet ji, Aman ji, Mahesh ji, Pandey ji, Pavan ji and Kushal ji were all very knowledgeable and kind and I enjoyed learning from them. Vikas ji is the owner and ran the vinyasa classes, I enjoyed his classes as he has a great sense of humour and also pushed us to do more which was exactly what I wanted! I loved my room, it was spacious and the bedding was cosy and warm. Ravi also made so much effort for Christmas Day and arranged a special party which was so sweet and thoughtful! I miss the school already, you’ll not want to leave!

My experience at this yoga school was truly transformative and expansive. Through the daily routine and consistent practice, I gradually began to embody the yogic lifestyle, it’s so beautiful to witness how the body and mind become more flexible, strong, and present each day. Everything in the program is designed for you to understand, through direct experience, the deep connection between body, mind, and spirit, and how, by dedicating time and loving awareness to each one, they begin to align with the pure essence of love, balance, and health that we truly are. The teachers are incredible, their way of transmitting knowledge feels deeply authentic, rooted in the ancient yogic texts yet beautifully connected to modern needs and daily life. Each class was taught with wisdom, presence, and genuine passion for the path of yoga. The entire staff deserves heartfelt gratitude for their kindness and attention to detail, everything was so well organized and lovingly cared for. The food was absolutely delicious, nourishing, and wonderfully diverse, and the facilities were always clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The environment is beautiful and so peaceful, surrounded by nature and away from the city noise, yet still very accessible, just about 10 minutes from the center. There are also lovely cafés and small shops nearby with everything you might need. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and recommend this school wholeheartedly to anyone seeking an authentic, holistic, and inspiring yoga journey.

Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School exceeded...
Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School exceeded all my expectations. From the staff, teachers, building, food to the location. The daily structure of the classes really worked well and the 6.00am start has become part of my routine. All the classes really taught me so much about the mind, body and soul and this will definitely have a lasting impact on me and I feel sure on the people I will share this with. I particularly enjoyed Philosophy, Mantra and Meditation. The extracurricular activities were super fun and added to the group bonding ❤️ I am really so glad I chose Rishikesh and Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School and feel very sure I will return here again to learn more!🙏🏼

I had the best experience at Sarvodaya. I did a lot of research before selecting this school and it lived up to every expectation. The teachers were amazing. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Food was fresh and tasty every day. Location of the school is beautiful, it’s surrounded by mountains and we were blessed to see the sunrise every day. Everything is very organised and nothing was too much trouble. Vikas ji is very friendly and down to earth person that makes the experience and the school more special. I truly hope to return one day for my 300hr training! If you are searching for a great school, fantastic teachers then look no more.

My experience at this yoga school has been truly transformative. Everything here is beautifully organized to support both learning and personal growth. The school is nestled high in the mountains, surrounded by peaceful nature and fresh air — the perfect place to disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with yourself. The food is simply amazing — healthy, full of flavor, and made with love. It’s real, traditional Indian food that nourishes both body and soul. The teachers are absolutely wonderful. Each of them brings their own unique energy, deep knowledge, and authentic passion for yoga. They complement each other perfectly and make the learning process rich and inspiring. I didn’t join this training with the intention of becoming a yoga teacher, but rather to deepen my personal practice and understanding of yoga. Yet, I’ve come out of it with so much more — clarity, confidence, inner peace, and a heart full of gratitude. I was deeply touched when the team surprised me for my birthday — such a kind and heartfelt gesture that made me feel truly cared for. Moments like this show the warmth and love that fill this place. I felt guided, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. This experience has touched me deeply and will stay with me for a long time. 🙏✨

An experience of a lifetime
My experience at Sarvodaya Yoga Shala was really transformative. I have progressed in my yoga practice and I am confident in my ability to teach when I go home. The teachers are exceptionally knowledgeable and deliver the traditional teachings of yoga with authenticity and depth, including mantra chanting, pranayama (breath work), meditation, and yoga philosophy. If you’re hoping to organise retreats in the future, this training provides a strong foundation. The owner and manager were kind, supportive, and empathetic throughout the course, which was important given the intensity of the training. The private chef prepared authentic Indian meals every day, which were delicious. The school immersed us in Indian culture by taking us to spiritual events and places in Rishikesh. The location is beautiful, set up in the mountains, peaceful, fresh air, yet still within easy reach of Rishikesh town. One of the best cafés in Rishikesh is right opposite the school. The excursions were brilliant too. I never expected to go white water rafting on the Ganges! It was such a fun and exhilarating experience. I leave not only with the school’s teachings but also with my own personal growth. Thank you to the Sarvodaya Yoga School for such an inspiring experience. Namaste.

A truly great experience
I did my 200 hr YTT here and it was a great experience. The teachers are well versed in the topics they’re speaking on. They were always able to answer any questions and the curriculum subjects wove together seamlessly. The room was very clean and had everything one could need for a comfortable stay. I had never had Indian food prior to coming here and the cooks did a fantastic job. There wasn’t a meal I didn’t like. Ravi was the best manager, he was super attentive and made the experience so great. Our batch was over Christmas and they put on the best Christmas party. Overall, highly recommend!

Fantastic yoga school in Rishikesh
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School's 200-hour YTT program. The encouraging atmosphere of support and knowledge created a home away from home feeling that made my journey special! The highly experienced instructors were also an incredible source of guidance, so I look forward with enthusiasm as I continue this path by taking part in their 300hr Program too. Expressing my immense gratitude towards the teachers & school for bringing such joy throughout our course - it has been nothing short of amazing! All ready for next time!

My experience with Sarvodaya Vinyasa Yoga School in Rishikesh was nothing short of magical. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by their warm and friendly staff. The teachers were knowledgeable, kind and patient. They took the time to explain each pose correctly so I could understand them easily. The classes were challenging yet enjoyable, and I left feeling energized and relaxed! Not only did I gain strength and flexibility, but I also experienced a heightened sense of mindfulness. Sarvoday's environment was peaceful, calming, and full of positive energy, that really helped to elevate my practice.
