While studying about yoga, we pay due importance to the anatomy, physiology and the practical part of it, but there is something else also which is essential to explore the origin and philosophy behind yoga. The basics of yoga or how yoga became such an important part of our lives. This yoga philosophy course will guide you through various aspects of yoga, such as its history, various yoga paths, the 8 limbs of yoga, the Bhagavad Gita and the Patanjali yoga sutras. Also, the best part is that it is a multilingual course with full-time access to pre-recorded sessions.

Then you are at the right place.
This particular course on yoga philosophy gave me a comprehensive overview of what yoga philosophy is by breaking down the complex concepts into much easier and easier to understand concepts. It is very important to understand the origin and theory behind various parts of yoga.
This course covered topics like Bhagwat Gita, Patanjali’s yoga sutras, and the 8 limbs of yoga, which gave me a deeper understanding beyond just the physical practice of it. The content and the instructors were both engaging. They gave us practical examples with philosophical insights and it was a truly enjoyable journey.

The yoga philosophy has been formed on a clear basis that our mind, body and spirit are one and they are interconnected to each other. And also that spiritual ignorance is the root cause of all sufferings and if we want to reduce our sufferings, we need to be mentally and physically fit. And this can be achieved by integrating a body, mind and soul connection. This is the primary aim of yoga.
Patanjali has defined the eight limbs of Yoga as yama (abstinence), niyama (observances), asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (absorption).
Talking of the original and the previous times Lord Shiva, has been considered the first Yogi, also known as Adiyogi, who imported and gave people the knowledge of yoga. But if you talk of modern day yoga then Maharishi Patanjali is considered as the father of yoga. He has done so much research and has provided knowledge in yoga sutras for us to learn about yoga and its importance.
Yoga philosophy believes that working on one's own self is the first step towards achieving focussed inner self and being in harmony. If a person has his relation within his mind, body and soul as a good relation, then only he can have a good relation with the outer world. And to do these things you need to practice yoga, which will teach you moral principles, ethical standards and ways to manage your anger issues through various breathing exercises, doing postures and being mindful.
With this yoga course, you will learn important aspects of yoga, such as the correct posture, the breathing exercises and how meditation can change the way our brain processes things. If yoga is a way of life then yoga philosophy tells us how to reach that way of life and control your life on your own.
